“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” –John 4:34
God designed life in such a way that we need food to fuel and keep us going physically. If we run out of food, we eventually run out of energy and the ability to do anything requiring physical strength. Jesus told the disciples the equivalent of how this works spiritually. He was basically saying that doing his Father’s will and finishing His work is what was driving and motivating him. What an amazing example to us!
This Friday night we will be meeting together for a time that we are calling, “Friday Night Fuel!” This will be on the 1st and 3rd Fridays at 6pm, and at the Mihaly’s house this week. Here’s the link for the meal sign-up list: Sign-up Genius
It’ll be a gathering where we not only share dinner together, but we’ll also take time to study and share God’s word, share life updates and prayer requests, and seek God’s wisdom and grace to fuel the different events and meeting that we will have as a church this spring.
Not only will this be a great time for food and fellowship, but it’s also designed to nourish our faith with God’s word and to seek God’s will and grace together through prayer. I believe this will energize our spiritual lives and the life of our entire church as well. I hope you are able to join us as we pioneer this, because I honestly believe it will become one of the most encouraging and enjoyable meetings that we do. Let me (or Drew) know if you have any questions!
Your brother in Christ,
–Rich
